BRIGHTEVERYDAY Spiritual Awakening?

Now is time to reflect on who we are, to plan, and to dream. Isolation for many has afforded us time to think of all the things that matter in life, and the many things are quite superfluous and trivial. We ask questions of our habits and lifestyles, trawl over the media, often confirming that we humans are complex, unpredictable, unfathomable, and often tragic. We are, however, bound by uncertainty and fear, but united in the face of an unknown predator. We show goodness and support, joining volunteer support, neighbour awareness groups, and a sensitivity to the unfolding crisis and emotional torment.

There are strong and enduring emotional and spiritual rewards, in the goodness of public spiritedness and kindness, and this raises the energy and vibration of people towards a common cause and kinship. This indomitable force re-shapes our energy and direction towards a duty of care to the vulnerable and underprivileged. Feeling nervous, fearful, and vulnerable in the sudden Pandemic, we discover a humility and deep sense of community, dispelling thoughts of self-regard and narcissism. This is the path forward in humankind, in education, and understanding our many cultural differences, identity and development; it commits to history, divergent goals and philosophies. Rather, it glorifies what we share in each other, and our abundant world and gives hope, equality, and faith to all.

Our generous planet has a profusion of natural resources. One questions if, in our disregard, misappropriation, and depletion of its plenitude, we have created imparity, and a centrifugal energy, hurtling humanity to unknown peril. Faith, hope and collective human resolve, are essential instruments in changing that thrust, and direction of energy, in the hope we can obviate such a fate. Timely intervention may direct us in an opposing force and energy of equilibrium, re-generation, and communion, offering redemption towards One World.

Individuals can create change through sublime wisdom, desire. and the exaltation of humankind to a common purpose. Extraordinary feats of goodness and public will, can raise the level of collective awareness and obligation to each other, abrogating the drive to selfishness, mediocrity, spiritual obscurity, and cultural and economic sterility. Connectivity with each other is a key pre-requisite of all sublime human interventions, participation, and accord. It is an intrinsic part of realising unity and being One.

The Coronavirus outbreak has indeed shown what can define us as a people, what we can aspire to, and what collectively we can achieve in the most destructive circumstances. The Herculean efforts of our National Health Service, and all supporting services and groups, have inspired feelings so profound, they can ignite a new spirit the world over. We can, as individuals, harness such energy, and implore Politicians at all levels, that this is the will of the people. Demand radical change in the social, economic, and political structure of our world and, immediate interventions in action and responsibility for natural resources, our climate and ecological environment. Mother nature is indeed a centripetal force to nurture

Perhaps a search for a new meaning in our lives would lead us on a rewarding journey, towards a beauty in simplicity and clear thinking, in understanding the inter-relationships of our natural world and cosmos, of which we are custodians. There were advanced civilisations whose significance and high level of culture, science and endeavour, pay homage to not only History, but to their unyielding ability to work to their very highest level, to share in knowledge, communication, social development, and obligation.

Indeed, they endure through their diverse civilisations, defined in part by their knowledge of philosophy, astronomy, medicine, division of labour, urbanisation, symbolism, and iconology. Profoundly agile as thinkers and creators, they were Masters of specialisation, complex systems of civilisation, and, although there was a collapse of such civilisations and societies, they left an indelible mark of sublime significance. It is antipodal to our world, a world much devoid of meaning, one of subjugation, inequality, poverty, scientization, profane trivia, fragmentation, and chaos. They have left a wealth of knowledge, legacies of literature, art and cultures imbued with wisdom and significance, and all abundantly relevant today. What shall we leave in the wake of our destructive forces for future generations? We have much to learn and assimilate form our forebearers in re-interpreting and crafting our future.
